LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7
for the PSP focuses on the last three books in the Harry Potter book series. The game, which picks up where Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 left off brings players through the world created in the books. Players will be pulled through different worlds and locations made famous by the Harry Potter book series and encounter characters they are familiar with through the series, as well. As a Lego figure players learn spells, encounter enemies and friends and build their skills for a final battle against Lord Voldemort, just like in the books.
Lego brand games rarely deviate from their pattern and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is no exception. The game focuses on collecting spells and valuables, exploring multiple landscapes and solving puzzles all to build up to a final main battle. Lego Harry Potter focuses on the collection of spells which can then be selected and used via wheel selection for specific battles, side missions and instances. Players are also granted the mission of unlocking characters and items to use within the game.
Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 has added some pretty special new features. It offers a feature in which the Lego character can cut open specific areas of walls made of Lego bricks to build useful tools to advance in the game. In addition to the adventure mode players can use a freeplay mode, and a co-op mode in which two players can attack the stages and levels together.
The side missions are expected to be challenging and add a significant amount of game play time to the game, but the main goal of this game is the epic battle with Lord Voldemort; just like in the books and movies. Any fan of the Harry Potter series is well aware that the latter books, which this game focuses on, broached dark topics including death and redemption. Players can expect Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 to touch on those same topics. The game, because of the books it is based on, will likely be a bit edgier and suspenseful than the last Lego Harry Potter installment.
The PSP version will be available for purchase on November 11, 2011 just in time for the holiday season. Stores are currently taking pre-orders for the game. Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is also being released on all other consoles on the same date.
