DS Versus PSP. GTA Chinatown Wars, Graphics Comparison

I do not know about you, but the PSP just delivers better graphics than DS. I have always believed that PSP is a better portable machine. Not just in the graphics department. But comparing other factors too, like better exclusives. Here is just a good example of why PSP is way better. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, both available for the PSP and DS. Which do you like more?

If you look on the web for opinions about which one being better, most will either say something like: "they are both good in a way, or they both have advantages and disadvantages". I am so tired of that neutral crap, and I think that they are all bound to say nothing against either handheld because they do not know much about video games, because they are not even gamers themselves.

Sony is certainly not giving me a cent for saying this, and I know about both consoles. I should just say that PSP is the best handheld gaming device there is. If you think about it. Sure you can get a DS for much cheaper than a PSP. You are certainly paying what its worth. For reals, sorry DS fanboys, I have to say it. Now it has been on my mind that since the release of both consoles one was more design for kids(Nintendo DS) and the other for a more grown up audience(PSP). That is how I see it.

Just look at the DS ugly pixelated screen. Those graphics are probably a decade old and even though the game is new release by the looks of the DS seem outdated.

Check Out This Video. You will be able to see another fight between PSP 3000 and Nintendo's DSi like we have not seen before. Only this time getting round points are the judges, and of course both great handhelds are graded on all important aspect features. Guess which one become the champion?

PSP With A Touch Screen Mod? Vs DS

Looking at this video, I am not sure I would like to see the next generation of PSP to have a touch screen feature to tell the truth. If this was true, it would seem to me that Sony would be following the Nintendo DS, in technology. When in fact it should be the other way around. Nothing compares the supreme graphics of the PSP, and besides that; the media features are excellent on the PSP, and it is as of this time better than the DSi on many aspects in my opinion.

Many would disagree PSP is better than DS, because of the sales statistics. I am certain the PSP is rising even more everyday to that,; as recent sales in Japan have shown a greater sales percentage of the PSP more than any other handheld and home consoles. And with the new PSP Go! (expected to hitting the stores late this year, 2009 in Japan and North America) it will be more than obvious which is the better handheld.

Japan Sells Just A Bit More PSP Than DSi

Statistics for week ending April 12 in Japan. Now who thought the PSP was getting more sales? When the majority of time it has been the underdog against the DS. There was quite one time that month after month the PSP beat the DS in sales in Japan.

I could just imagine the PSP saying something like: "Ok, DS you have won some battles but not the war". The PSP is still fighting hard to just be the one handheld that everyone wants to buy.

The table to the right shows the statistics for all mayor systems sold in Japan as of week ending April 12. That really says we are living the age of the handhelds. really take a look at those numbers. It is quite remarkable that the PSP beat the DSi for a mere 213 units, but a win is a win even if it is just by one unit.

PSP Vs Nintendo DSi

As I went through some PSP articles, I found this site quite interesting!! Basically states that Sony is kinda making it clear that the PSP is for mature intelligent consumers and has a broader game mix, being games targeted for all peoples ages. kid games and adult games as well. The Nintendo DSi has just focused on "kid" games and making the PSP a better choice on portable device because of game variety.

Furthermore the next wave of PSP games are just even getting more techi and UMDless I think with PStore anyone could just download games. I am assuming full games that you can actually purchase from the PStore via wireless feature.

There is one important fact to consider when comparing the two handheld devices. Up until now the DS is outselling the PSP by 2 to 1 worldwide. Does this fact make the PSP come in second place? Or could it mean that because the majority think of handhelds as toys it automatically targets kids?

I personally would not trade my PSP for a DSi any moment soon. I find the PSP a great gaming and media device and can quite think that there are loads of functions on my PSP the DS would only dream about.

PSP VS iPod Touch 2

Nice explanation of the two devices on the video. This is part 2 of 2 of phonedog video at Youtube. Clearly the upper gaming device here is the PSP right? (Not just gaming: PSP can also play videos{mp4}, and with PSPtube application, and Wi-fi connection to internet; You can also view, search, and save Youtube videos. Not to mention it can also play mp3s, you can store computer files just like a regular memory stick. Store, view pictures, and there is a ton of other features that I will get tired just explaining here).

If you have about $200 and you were to buy a portable gaming device? which one would you choose: PSP or iPod Touch?

For gaming, the one and only PSP is best, I have doubts about iPod being a good gaming device, since it started as an mp3 player at the beginning.

Just think of the variety of games PSP has! It is quite a library, and we are not yet talking about the hacks and how anyone can install homebrew on their PSP and emulate some of the greatest systems of the past. With downloadable roms, now you have a huge, I mean HUGE selections of games. Never will you be able to say that about iPod touch.

I don't hate iPods, I mean they are quite very nice and technology wise, one of the top products. No wonder their success and popularity. The one thing I will say about Ipod touch that has the lead over our great PSPs is portability. Of course I talk about how small the Ipod touch is compared to PSP.

Well, the fact that PSP is bigger in size makes the screen somewhat good for my eyes, any smaller screen would make me cross eyed playing any type of games. That is the one reason I do not even play games on cellphones. Well, it's that and also the fact that the cellphone games are simple (not challenging), low graphic engined, and just for non-gaming people like me.

PSP VS Nintendo DS (battle of the handhelds)

Which handheld is better, the PSP or the DS? I can only give you my opinion, having both the PSP and the DS systems, I choose PSP. Here is my top the reason why: The PSP is not only a gaming system. It is really an excellent media player too. I love watching movies, listening to music, downloading, saving and viewing pictures from the internet among many other functions that only the PSP can do.

The PSP got a rough start selling worldwide than the DS. I think most of it was due because of the price sticker on it. Yes, it’s more expensive than buying the DS. It is true when they say “you get what you pay for” because I can do way more stuff on the PSP than on the DS. The DS is really good at games, I will give you that, but that is it; nothing else. Searching for what is better now PSP or DS, you will actually see that the PSP is now taking in more customers than any other popular gaming system today. This is really true, believe me, I did the research. When DS has nothing planned for the future, but just coming up with games or even great games at that, the PSP is doing the same, plus coming up with great innovative ad-ons accessories like GO! Cam, and Sony PSP 1-Seg digital TV Turner just to name some.

The above chart is accurate in Japan and I do believe it should not have much difference from that of the rest of the world chart. It is current as of May 2008. More here!
